Team Chicago Academy-Botafogo outside back/midfielder Kaitlin Johnson has committed her future soccer career to Michigan State University. Kaitlin, who plays her prep soccer at Rosary H.S., will be part of Head Coach Tom Saxton’s 2013 recruiting class.

Kiley Dunning Commits to IPFW!

Team Chicago Academy-Botafogo Goalkeeper Kiley Dunning has accepted a great scholarship offer to continue her career at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Kiley, who plays her prep soccer at Metea Valley H.S., will be part of Head Coach Margaret Saurin’s 2013 recruiting class.

The IPFW Mastodons are coming off a very successful 10-8-1 season that included a run to the Summit League Championship game. Team Chicago Academy-Internacional standout, and Metea teammate, Megan Buchanan will be joining Kiley at IPFW for the 2014 season.

Three Team Chicago Academy players have been selected to participate in the National ODP Training Camp conducted at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, AZ January 31st-February 2nd.

Hannah Parrish, GK on U16 Team Chicago Academy-Internacional will be representing the 1997 Region II ODP Team.

Bailee Witt, GK on U13 Team Chicago Academy-Cruzeiro will be representing the 1999 Region II ODP Team playing up a year as she is a 2000 birth year.

Kerry Abello, left back/winger on U13 Team Chicago Academy-Cruzeiro will also be representing the 1999 Region II ODP Team.

This camp is designed to bring the best players from each of the four Regions together in a training environment with the sole focus of developing the players individually.

Team Chicago’s Annual MLK Day College Showcase was a huge success with close to 100 players displaying their talents in front of 60 college coaches. The coaches represented schools at all levels of the college game, and they came from as far away as UNLV in Las Vegas.

NCAA Division I was represented by coaches from the Big Ten (Illinois, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Iowa) as well as Illinois State, Loyola, NIU, UIC, SIU-E, IPFW, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and UNLV. NCAA Division II was represented by among others national powerhouse Grand Valley State U., Wisconsin-Parkside, Lewis, and Illinois-Springfield. NCAA Division III was represented by some of its strongest academic and soccer program such as University of Chicago, Washington U., and Kalamazoo College. And NAIA was very well-represented as well.

Team Chicago Academy-Botafogo standout Zoey Goralski has been called into the U-20 National Team for its training camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA February 2nd-9th.
